Brits and the bloody weather, New York style.
Growing up in England, I was used to moderate temperatures. We definitely had some rough weather, don’t get me wrong. But the average Brit has an anorak (raincoat), a slightly warmer coat that may be made from wool or filled with down, and a puffer jacket (that’s a vest). Possibly one pair of gloves and a scarf. Wellies (galoshes, or rain boots) are de rigueur. Because in the UK, it rains. A lot.
